HOPE MENTORING

Your contributions enhance Compass’ funded programs for community center activities and special events held outside of the scope of our funded, direct service programs.

The HOPE Mentoring Program is aimed to pair kids and teens from 10 to 17 who are dealing with sexuality/gender issues with adults, aged 22 years or older, who can become a resource to those mentees. Pairings meet twice a month, two hours each meeting.

The mentors and mentees will meet at Compass to spend time together. They can watch movies, play games, do homework, or even just talk. There are plenty of options!

Mentors and mentees are matched through an extensive process by the Youth Program staff, based off interests of both candidates, the needs of the mentee, and the qualifications of the mentors. Mentors or mentees wishing to apply should contact the Youth Program Coordinator at hope@compassglcc.com. For mentors applying, you must be willing to submit yourself for an FBI Background Check and visit to your home.
